CARMELA RICCO CARAVAGGIO – CEO

Carmela’s life revolves around volunteering: in her unyielding commitment to the Church Community; COTA Health from 1995 to 2014 linked to elderly clients who suffered from depression; the Canadian Cancer Society from 1993 to present and participates in various CCS Fundraising campaigns, which fund research for families living with cancer. Carmela’s positive attitude, dedication, and ability to connect with people make her an indispensable asset to any not-for-profit organization that make a difference to people’s lives. The AnnFrances Tropea Foundation of Canada welcomes Carmela as the CEO and a member of the voluntary board of directors.

CIRO CARAVAGGIO – President

Ciro Caravaggio has been an educator for over forty years, teaching students across the curriculum in all divisions.  Ciro has inspired and motivated students to do and be their best in achieving success in academics, sports, creativity, civic duty and future endeavours.  Mr. Caravaggio also specialized in teaching exceptional children with special needs.  He continues to be a lector in his religious denomination.  Mr. Caravaggio also corresponds the concerns of his neighbourhood to Municipal Councillors, which has been very effective in improving the Community.  In his retirement, Mr. Caravaggio continues to be active in Education as an Occasional Teacher, dedicated to the vocation he was called for.

TONY TROPEA – Vice President

Tony Tropea has more than 30 years of experience in retail and was a manager for the Liquor Control Board of Ontario for two decades. Tony knows firsthand the despair and hardships of dealing with a cancer diagnosis. In 2015, his 16-year-old daughter AnnFrances was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Tony desperately wants to help other young adults so that they can have support when faced with a life-threatening illness. Tony is determined to raise funds and awareness for bone cancer and related illnesses. Tony currently resides in Ontario with his family including his dog Bailey. He loves the sport of baseball and took great pleasure coaching his sons in the sport. Tony enjoys music, traveling and especially spending time with his family.

JONATHAN YEN HB.Sc., M.B.A., LL.B., LL.M, TEP, Q.Arb.

Jonathan is the principal lawyer at JCY Law, Barrister and Solicitor (www.jcylaw.com) and the principal at Mediation Arbitration Chambers Inc. (www.medarbchambers.com) (a firm that conducts alternative dispute resolution as mediation and arbitration). Over his 30-year legal career, Jonathan served as litigation counsel, commercial/corporate counsel, trusted advisor, mediator, and arbitrator to corporations and individuals of diverse ethnicity, culture and nationality. Jonathan, is counsel to The AnnFrances Tropea Foundation.
